Our vision
For the right conditions, opportunities and collective leadership to exist in Salford for everyone to move more.
Since 2018 Salford have been part of Greater Manchester’s Place Partnership (formerly named Local Delivery Pilot) with GM Moving and Sport England to build healthier, more active communities. Salford CVS is working with Salford City Council and Salford Community Leisure to support the delivery of this programme which aims to reduce inactivity and health inequalities.
How it works
To do this we take a place-based approach that brings together people, communities, and organisations to create sustainable solutions to inactivity, and shift the system into a place where it enables as much movement as possible.
The Place Partnership programme helps fulfil the objectives of the Move More Salford Framework, which sets out a series of cross-system approaches to help the people of Salford to live active lives.

What is place-based working in sport, physical activity and movement?
Designed with and by local people: Working alongside local communities to understand what they want and need.
Focuses on local needs: Using local data and insight to understand what matters most in each community.
Builds on the strengths of a place: Recognising that communities already have valuable assets: committed volunteers, schools, parks and community energy.
Aims for long-term change: Focus on creating lasting impact, not short-term projects.
