Volunteer Opportunities

You will be assisting with the running of Mustard Tree's community shop in Little Hulton. The community shop is a hub of support to clients and customers alike. Volunteer activities range from welcoming customers, serving clients in the food-club (Mustard Tree's answer to a food-bank), providing customer service in the shop, and mentorship of Freedom Project trainees.
The Freedom Project is a life skills and employability programme, aimed at helping those who have additional barriers to moving on in life, such as homelessness and poverty. You will be volunteering alongside Freedom Project trainees whilst providing support and mentorship of volunteering tasks.
No two days will look the same; from sorting clothes donations, to assisting clients who are moving out of homelessness find furniture to make their new house a home. Volunteers will will be able to make a real difference to the local community, whilst being supported by Mustard Tree's retail team.

Experience in a customer service environment, charity shop, or working with vulnerable adults is desirable; but being non-judgemental, enthusiastic, and a willingness to get stuck in is essential!
Volunteering with Mustard Tree is very fulfilling, as you will be working directly with service users and clients. All training will be provided as well as on-going, continued support whilst you volunteer.
