Description:

Volunteers will support refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants taking part in our Everyday English and Conversation Club sessions. You’ll help learners practise English through friendly conversations, activities, and group discussions. Volunteers who speak other languages may also help with translation or interpreting, especially during sign-ups or when supporting participants with limited English. In addition, we’re planning Art and Wellbeing Workshops, where volunteers can help with creative activities that promote communication, confidence, and inclusion. This is a great opportunity to meet people from around the world, develop your communication skills, and make a real difference in your community.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Friendly, patient, and open-minded attitude
- Good communication and listening skills
- Interest in supporting refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants
- Ability to work well with people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Reliable and respectful of confidentiality

Desirable (but not essential):
- Ability to speak another language (helpful for interpreting and translation)
- Experience in teaching, ESOL, community work, or the arts
- Creative or artistic skills (for upcoming Art and Wellbeing Workshops)

Full training and ongoing support will be provided - enthusiasm and kindness are more important than experience!
