Salford Women’s Aid supports women and children affected by domestic abuse, providing safe refuge accommodation and community-based support. We’re looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and help ensure the charity remains financially strong and sustainable.
About the Role
As Treasurer, you’ll will be involved with:
• Overseeing the charity’s finances, helping ensure resources are used effectively.
• Reviewing management accounts and explain financial information in clear, accessible language.
• Supporting strategic planning, financial risk management, and long-term sustainability.
• Acting as a counter-signatory on funding applications and support the approval of annual accounts.
You’ll also work closely with the Chair, Head of Service, and fellow trustees to guide financial decisions that directly impact the women and children we support.

What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from people who:
• Have a background in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Have experience with budgeting, financial reporting, or financial oversight.
• Can communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
• Are collaborative, supportive, and enjoy contributing to strategy and governance.
• Are passionate about helping women and children live safely and free from abuse.
Experience in charity finance, fundraising, governance, or grant funding is a bonus, but not essential.
We are seeking women to become Trustees of our well-established board. You will share our commitment to our vision and help shape a long-term sustainable future for our charity.
