Salford CVS welcomes recognition of the VCSE sector in Dame Julia Unwin’s “A Precious Treasure” speech

Salford CVS welcomes Dame Julia Unwin’s speech, "A Precious Treasure: Sustaining Charities, Building Communities and Protecting Public Trust", which highlights the essential role charities play in creating strong communities and supporting social wellbeing. We are particularly encouraged by the recognition of the value of infrastructure organisations that support charities and the need to invest in governance support, training, and capacity-building.

We also welcome additional investment in the Charity Commission, which should help address registration delays and strengthen public trust in the sector.

Her Royal Highness has had to leave for her next engagement, but on behalf of the board of the Charity Commission, its leadership and staff, I thank her for her time and contribution to our event today..."
