Organisation description: Annie Surtees, Principal Greenspace Officer for Salford City Council, contacted our village association, Friends of Roe Green, in October 2015 as the existing equipment in Roe Green Play Park is in urgent need of refurbishment. Parts of the play area are becoming dangerous and, due to its age, equipment cannot be replaced. Salford City Council has already taken sections away and has limited funds available to repair and upgrade the park. A committee of enthusiastic local parents was set up in November 2015 with the aim of raising £100,000 and driving forward the refurbishment plans.
