Organisation description: ALSG is a medical education charity dedicated to saving life by providing training. As a leading medical charity, based in Swinton, we aim to improve outcomes for people in life-threatening situations.

We provide free Basic Life Support training to the Salford Community and also deliver Injury Minimization Programme for Schools (IMPS) to year 6 primary schools, in Salford. IMPS empowers young people to take personal responsibility for managing their own risks and equips them with the skills to assist in an emergency situation, it is a national programme run from John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford

In September 2016 we are starting to run Early Learning for Safety (ELFS) to 3-5 year olds. Accidental injury is the leading cause of death among children and young people and puts more children in hospital than any other cause. It's a hands on course with thermometers, bandages, stethoscopes etc. and the children meet ELFIE the accident prone teddy bear, who they can check for a heartbeat, bandage and patch up his wound
