Organisation description: A 12 week program on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in relation to Domestic Violence Abuse and Substance misuse with Holistic Therapies.
The program covers 25 topics to support healing from both trauma and substance misuse. Focusing on coping skills and problem solving, through sessions on behavioural , cognitive and interpersonal development.
Many women survivours of domestic abuse turn to substance abuse to cope. Too often trauma symtoms or substance use is viewed as a weakness, rather than looking at it from the victims perspective as a normal response to abnormal situations.
Through compassionate discussion and a holistic treatment at the end of the session, women gain the tools to help gain new information and skills, to learn to navigate triggers and build a life of safety and well-being, which everyone deserves.
