Volunteer Opportunities

If you own your own car and have 3 hours to spare once a month to take our clients to and from our social group, then we would like to hear from you! Our social group takes place at the Worsley Road United Reformed Church in Swinton (usually first Wednesday of the month 1pm-3pm). Our clients like to attend because it helps to reduce their isolation, make friends and have fun. Our events programme includes solo singers, group bands, presentations, history talks, exercise classes, meditation, bingo and even day trips! All volunteers can stay too, which is great if you like meeting people, drinking tea or coffee and eating lots of cakes!

We are looking for volunteers from all walks of life who can demonstrate maturity, sympathy and empathy, and if you have a good sense of humour, then that's a bonus because our clients are sure to make you laugh!
* You may be retired or work part time, so you would like to use your spare time to help people in the community.
* You may have previously been a carer or received care support yourself, so you understand some of the challenges that carers have to deal with and so would like to give something back to the community.
* You may be a student studying a course in the caring profession such as Medicine, Social Work, Health and Social Care or Counselling, so you are looking to enhance your employability by getting some real life work experience.
