Lateral Flow Tests for Salford CVS Events

At Salford CVS we are committed to keeping attendees at our event safe and as part of our risk assessment have introduced Lateral Flow Testing for Staff / Volunteers and Attendees to try and prevent the spread of Covid-19. This page answers some of the common frequently asked questions we have about this.

Where do I get an NHS Lateral Flow Test?

Lateral Flow Tests are freely available for a number of sources -

Lateral Flow Tests are only suitable for people with no coronavirus symptoms and who feel well so if you feel unwell or have any symptoms please cancel your space at our events (free of charge) and book a PCR test instead.

How do I demonstrate proof of a negative test?

You must report your COVID-19 NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test result online, by visiting COVID-19 NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test result. OR use this link in your browser - https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result.

If you do not have access to the internet, you can also report your test result by calling the phone number in your test kit’s instructions, NHS 119 (England, Wales and Northern Ireland)

You will need to demonstrate your negative NHS Lateral Flow Test result by showing us one of the following:

  • Text OR email confirmation of your result (this can be printed or via your mobile phone)
  • OR by using the NHS COVID Pass, available through the NHS App

PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR HOME TEST STRIP WITH YOU

If I’m coming to an event, when should I do an NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test?

You should do a lateral flow test within 48 hours prior to arriving at the venue. This means doing it either the night before or the morning of the event.

What if I test positive?

A positive result from an NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test means it’s likely you had coronavirus when the test was done. Let us know and we will cancel your place free of charge. You should self-isolate straight away (check if people you live with need to self-isolate) and get a PCR test to confirm your result as soon as possible. In England, if you do not get a PCR test within 2 days of a positive rapid lateral flow test at a test site, you will need to self-isolate for 10 full days even if you get a negative PCR result.
