Safeguarding Adults Week - Creating Empowering Environments

Environments where empathy, understanding, co-production, and positive risk-taking flourish support a trauma-informed approach to safeguarding. This can support staff to feel confident in enabling and empowering individuals who have experienced abuse, aligned to the Key Principles of Safeguarding embedded in The Care Act 2014.

Salford Trauma Informed/Responsive Practice Training

Trauma Responsive Salford has developed from the work of the 0-25 Advisory Board, made up of senior people from around 20 organisations. The aim of this Board is to create a city in which children and young people achieve their potential. This section of the Partners in Salford website hosts information about Adverse Childhood Experiences and the continued impact of childhood trauma into adulthood; information about training for professionals and self-care resources to manage the impact of vicarious trauma created when supporting people experiencing trauma, including abuse.

Salford City Council and partners have commissioned Dignifi to deliver a trauma awareness training programme over the next year. Courses include a 4-hour Trauma Awareness session; a full-day Enhanced Understanding of Trauma and a full-day Compassionate Leadership course.
