Safer Internet Day 2026

Safer Internet Day is taking place on Tuesday 10th February 2026, and we’re proud to be supporting this important event once again. We’d love for everyone to get involved – whether that’s planning an activity, starting a conversation about online safety, or simply helping spread the word.

Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity to highlight how we can all help children and young people stay safe and confident online, and for 2026 we are focusing on the theme: Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI. You can find everything you need, including free resources and ideas for getting involved, at saferinternetday.org.uk.

The Theme: Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI

Everyone’s talking about AI, and with many children and young people hearing about and using AI online, it’s important they have the skills and confidence to make safe choices when they are using smart technology.

This Safer Internet Day we are exploring the impact of AI on all of our lives, looking at how AI can be used for good, and giving advice and guidance that empowers people to use AI safely and responsibly.

Take a look at some of the resources available via the UK Safer Internet Centre based around this years theme:
