About the Forum

Vocal Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Forum was established in February 2019 and changed its name and focus in 2024, becoming the Vocal Poverty & Inequality Forum. The Forum brings together a range of VCSE groups, in particular those working to tackle poverty and work with communities of identity within the city of Salford.

Aim

Vocal Poverty & Inequality Forum aims to reduce poverty and inequalities and promote inclusion within the city of Salford.

Objectives

  • To provide broad ranging representation of the view and interests of VCSE organisations working to reduce poverty and inequalities within the city of Salford
  • To represent the views of Vocal Poverty & Inequality membership at Multi Agency Strategic Partnerships
  • To ensure that the Forum membership organisations’ expertise and diverse experience fully informs strategy, service transformation and commissions

Where Vocal Poverty & Inequality Forum Representatives champion the voice and experience of people living in poverty or experiencing inequality; the involvement of the VCSE Sector and the Value of Volunteering:

  • Salford Community Safety Partnerships – Community Cohesion Subgroup
  • Salford Women’s Commission
  • Salford Equality Network
  • Salford Inclusive Economy Steering Group
  • Salford Tackling Poverty Steering Group

Meetings

Vocal Poverty & Inequality Forum meets four times a year.
