Aspire 'Forget Me Not' Dementia Remembrance Celebration
Aspire invites you to join them in partnership with RHS Garden Bridgewater for the annual Aspire 'Forget Me Not' Dementia Remembrance Celebration, marking Dementia Action Week on Thursday, 22nd May 2025, 1pm - 3pm. All are welcome to come along.
Aspire Activities at Humphrey Booth Resource Centre: Swinton
iamaspire.org.uk offers various dementia-friendly activities like the Aspire Choir, Shared Memories, Music and Dancing with Dementia, Kurling, Tai Chi, Bingo and Dominos, Creative Writing, and more.
Our Forget Me Not Café, is a dementia friendly café where you can relax, meet new people, and enjoy a hearty meal. Our café has a tasty range of breakfasts, snacks and daily specials which are available, including a budget-friendly hot meal deal of the day. Open Monday to Friday, 9am till 3pm.
The Aspire Choir:
Join us at the Humphrey Booth Resource Centre to enjoy a performance by the Aspire choir, singing a range of songs. They meet every Monday, 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm for rehearsals.
Music and Dancing with Dementia:
Fancy a dance and a sing a long? Come and join us every Wednesday at Humphrey Booth Resource Centre 11 – 12pm to enjoy a morning filled with dance, music, laughter, and lots of good fun! We have a fabulous mix of singers which perform different songs and genres each week.
Kurling:
Indoor Kurling is a low impact, accessible game, ideal for those who want to have a bit of competitive fun. Suitable for all ages and abilities, it is a modern take on the traditional game of kurling, just played indoors. It is a game where players slide large round stones towards a mark, using a broom style stick. Not only is it a great game, but it is also an opportunity to meet new people in a welcoming environment.
Date: Every Wednesday 1.30pm – 2.30pm
Tai Chi:
Relax, find your balance and inner peace with Tai Chi, gentle movements and mindfulness. Tai Chi class suitable for older people and people living with dementia.
Date: Every Wednesday 3pm – 3.30pm
Bingo and Dominos:
If you enjoy playing tabletop games, then this group would be perfect for you! We play bingo, dominos and many more tabletop games. We reminisce, meet new people, and enjoy lunch together in the dementia friendly café
Date: Every Thursday 10.30pm – 12noon
Chair based exercises:
Chair based exercises is great if you want to be physically active but also want something low impact and less stressful on your joints. The class is a mixture of leg and arm movements, helping to increase mobility and core stability, all to fun, upbeat music. Thursday afternoons 1.30pm till 2.30pm, there is a charge of £2.00.

Walking Sports - Dementia Friendly
The Dementia Friendly Session runs in partnership with Foundation 92 and is every Thursday 1pm - 3pm. The group do a range of sporting activities and tabletop activities.
