Dementia Plus Advocate

Stockport Without Abuse (SWA) is a grassroots charity committed to supporting our vision of everyone having a right to live in safety, and to have a future without fear of domestic abuse. We work directly with women, men and children who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse.

The Dementia Plus Advocate will deliver safeguarding and therapeutic services to individuals aged 65 and over who are impacted by domestic abuse, where either the victim or perpetrator has a diagnosis of dementia.

The post holder will provide personalised, dementia-sensitive support and raise awareness across the borough by delivering training to equip practitioners with the knowledge and tools to recognise and respond to abuse in the context of cognitive impairment.
