Project Support Officer

NW Hearts Charity is a young progressive charity with a big ambition - to improve heart health outcomes across Greater Manchester. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to support the charity’s range of activities. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the impactful grant-making process, including liaison with grant recipients, direct beneficiaries and grant panel judges.
  • Work alongside the team to plan, develop, promote and undertake a range of events and activities (large and small) across the region.
  • Participate in multi-organisational community events – engaging on a 1-to-1 basis with healthcare professionals, corporate agencies and members of the public.
  • Act as an ambassador for the charity in all interactions with external stakeholders, supporters, patients, families and the community.
  • Support the profile-raising of the charity by contributing to a number of marketing activities, including electronic newsletters, website updating, customer relationship management and social media activity.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day effectiveness of the charity via a range of operational and administrative duties, as required by the CEO. 

Experience, Skills and Knowledge 

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and who possesses the following: 

  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience of managing client data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.
  • A confidence to talk to a range of stakeholders, with the ability to adapt approach to the audience and situation.
  • A professional and friendly manner with a can-do attitude.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work well independently whilst being part of a remote team.
  • Ability and means to travel around the Greater Manchester area. 

Desirable 

  • Knowledge of the makeup and diversity of Greater Manchester.
  • Experience of hosting or supporting public events
  • A willingness and ability to work additional hours, with paid overtime, in the run up to planned, occasional large-scale events in the charity’s calendar.
