Trustees’ Week (3rd –7th November 2025) is a national celebration of the nearly one million trustees who give their time, skills and energy to help charities thrive across the UK. It’s a chance to recognise the vital role trustees play in guiding organisations, making key decisions, and ensuring good governance.

Trustee Training and Support via Salford CVS
Salford CVS provide a variety of training courses and workshops, to aid trustees in their personal development and in the running of organisations. These courses can be accessed free by any trustee supporting a charity; small community group, voluntary sector organisation, social enterprise or faith group in Salford.

How to be a Good Trustee – The Basics
The aim of this course is:
To give you information and build up your confidence to ensure your role as a trustee is effective and enjoyable. This course covers the requirements of the charity commission regarding foundational awareness of the responsibilities and powers of registered charity trustees.
This course will help you to:
- Understand your role as a trustee
- Understand your responsibilities to your organisation
- Be aware of basic tools to use in the future and anticipate challenges that may arise
- Understand what to expect and also what should be expected of you

- Anyone who has been a trustee but has no refreshed their training in the last 3 years .
