Salford CVS statement regarding Golders Green incident

We are deeply shocked and saddened by yesterday’s violent attack on the Jewish community in Golders Green.

Our thoughts are with the families affected and we stand in solidarity with the wider Jewish communities across the UK and here in Salford.

The Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Salford, as always, stands with our diverse communities and against violence. We will continue to play an active part in supporting our faith communities, and commit ourselves to standing against hate wherever it arises.

We are also deeply concerned about the ongoing increase in intolerance in our society, including prejudice on the basis of race, sexual orientation, religion, and other identities.

As the Greater Manchester Mayor and Deputy Mayor stated: “Antisemitism has absolutely no place in Greater Manchester, and we will never allow acts of hatred to divide us.”

If any VCSE groups and organisations operating in Salford want our support, contact us: office@salfordcvs.co.uk

Greater Manchester Resilience Hub provide a critical incident and trauma service to all VCFSE staff, as well as health and care staff: https://www.penninecare.nhs.uk/gmrh-staff
