Meet Jon

Jon offers a genuine personal connection to Peel Green as a long-standing resident, parent, and homeowner. He understands the everyday concerns of local families and is passionate about giving every resident a voice in shaping the neighbourhood's future.

Jon brings over 20 years of senior mechanical engineering leadership combined with an MBA from Imperial College London, giving him a rare blend of practical problem-solving and strategic business thinking. He is experienced in chairing meetings, leading cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and making evidence-based decisions under pressure. He is motivated not by top-down decision-making, but by empowering the community to drive lasting, meaningful change.

Jon commented,Having the opportunity to serve one's immediate community, with or without compensation, is an immense privilege. A privilege I certainly do not take for granted. If my stewardship of this Board improves the life of a single member of this community, then I might be able to say it was worth it. However, the intention is definitely steer the board to do much more!

Michael Wheel MP commented, “I am delighted to have Jon as the Chair of the Peel Green & Brookhouse Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board. Jon brings a wide range of experience and skills to this important role and a real commitment to making this community the best possible place to live, work and grow up. I am excited to work with him to deliver real change."

About the Neighbourhood Board

This is a great start to building the Brookhouse and Peel Green Neighbourhood Board. The Board will play a vital role in shaping decisions that matter to local people - giving residents a real voice in how investment and activity is directed in their neighbourhood. With community representation at its heart, the board will help ensure that the people who know the area best are at the table when it counts.

What’s next?

Wider Neighbourhood Board recruitment is now well underway, with interviews taking place over the coming weeks. The level of interest from the community has been fantastic, and we look forward to welcoming a board that truly reflects the diversity and spirit of Brookhouse and Peel Green.

This is just the beginning, there will be plenty more opportunities for people and communities across Brookhouse and Peel Green to get involved in shaping Pride in Place beyond the Neighbourhood Board. From sharing ideas to taking part in local activity, everyone has a part to play. Look out for events and opportunities coming out over the summer - we'd love to see as many of you there as possible.
