Rochdale Recovery Communities Facilitator
The role
Rochdale Recovery Communities (RRC) is a coalition of local organisations dedicated to supporting individuals in active substance use and recovery. United by a shared mission, RRC aims to end the stigma surrounding addiction, amplify the voices of those with lived experience, and create a visible recovery community that fosters connection and understanding.
The purpose of Rochdale Recovery Communities is:
- To create a visible recovery community which brings communities together
- A wider community which is shared with people who are not in recovery
- To recognise early intervention
- To end stigma and raise awareness
The Rochdale Recovery Communities Facilitator will be the glue at the heart of this coalition, building on the strong foundations which have developed over the past 12 months and driving forward their work. The role will require strong project management skills to support the group to deliver on their ambitious vision, aims and objectives.
A key part of this will be facilitating the RRC group’s meetings and wider network events, bringing together diverse organisations to work towards their shared priorities, aims and objectives.
The Facilitator will lead on communicating the work of the RRC, gathering stories and evidence of impact to raise the profile of the work and address stigma around recovery. The role will also work directly with the organisations within the coalition, supporting them to implement and demonstrate the impact of their funded recovery projects.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who…
- Is a skilled facilitator, who is passionate about recovery, lived experience and community action
- Is a practical ‘doer’ and creative people person, who can help RRC create a visible recovery community that creates connection and understanding
- Is a storyteller who can use social media and comms to bring the work of RRC to life and amplify the voice of lived experience
- Has an understanding of recovery, or is committed to learning from local organisations and people with lived experience
- Is a networker and can easily build strong, trusting relationships with people and organisations
- Is rooted in community and understands the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector
- Knows how to help others translate ideas into action
- Is passionate about supporting people and groups to fulfil their potential and can motivate others
