Domestic Abuse Well-being Practitioner

Passionate about making a difference? Join our team to deliver 1:1 therapeutic sessions and group work to children aged 5–18 who have experience Domestic Abuse and and may be in temporary accommodation or remain at home under the ‘Sanctuary scheme'
You'll travel across Greater Manchester, working in schools and Sure Start centres to provide vital support and help children feel safe, heard, and empowered.

The required skills and competencies for this role are: 

• Empathetic Communication: Able to build trust and rapport with children and young people, creating a safe space for them to express themselves.
• Trauma-Informed Practice: Understands the impact of domestic abuse on children and adapts support to meet emotional and developmental needs.
• Safeguarding Awareness: Maintains a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and acts promptly to protect children from harm.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working across various settings (schools, Sure Start centres) and adjusting approaches to suit individual needs.
• Organised and Reliable: Manages travel across Greater Manchester efficiently, keeping accurate records and meeting deadlines.
• Collaborative Working: Works effectively with schools, families, and other professionals to ensure joined-up support.
• Cultural Sensitivity: Respects and responds to the diverse backgrounds and experiences of children and families.

It would also be an advantage if you have any of the following skills and competencies:

• Background in Mental Health
• Prior SEND qualifications
• Experience working in Education
• Experience and knowledge around Domestic Abuse
