Carers Breaks Strategy: Final consultation open until 30th May

After consulting with carers and professionals earlier this year, Carers Manchester with the strategy Working Group have developed a draft Carers Breaks Strategy. The final consultation is now open, to make sure the priorities, recommendations and action plan are right.

You can contribute to this:

  • Fill in an online survey. This is for carers and professionals who work with carers. You can take part in a draw to win a £40 shopping voucher
  • Attend a workshop, for carers. Participants receive a £20 shopping voucher.
    • Thursday 29th May in Central Manchester.
The survey

The new online survey is open to all unpaid carers and professionals who support unpaid carers who live in the Manchester City Council area.

If the initial survey was completed back in January, individuals are still encouraged to complete this new survey.

There is particular interest in hearing from unpaid carers who:

  • Live in North or Central Manchester, or
  • Are from any other ethnic group than White British, or
  • Are men.

The workshops

Views can also be shared at one of the friendly and engaging workshops. At the in-person workshop, light refreshments will be available. For their time, participants will receive a shopping voucher for £20, and travel expenses will be paid (receipts or photographs for public transport tickets, mileage, car parking costs, etc. should be brought).

The workshops are open to unpaid carers who:

  • Live in the Manchester City Council area, or care for someone who lives in the Manchester City Council area, and
  • Did not attend one of the workshops earlier in 2025.
