Vacancy for a Debt Coach

The Bury Project, in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is seeking to appoint a Debt Coach to increase the support given by Bury’s CAP Debt Centre.

The Debt Coach will be employed for 8 -16 hours per week, focused on supporting individuals and families in the borough of Bury (Bury, Ramsbottom, Whitefield, Radcliffe, and Prestwich) area who have contacted CAP for debt help.

The Debt Coach will undertake home visits, gather paperwork and communicate advice prepared by CAP’s debt advisors.

The Debt Coach will also be responsible for building relationships with statutory, voluntary and community referral organisations locally; work closely to promote the debt centre and the work of CAP across the local churches and build and develop a team of volunteer befrienders who currently support the work in Bury.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting those in need and who has a heart for sharing their Christian faith with others.

The role requires a commitment to 50 hours of training (remote learning) from CAP between Monday 3rd November and Friday 5th Dec 2025 and applicants (if shortlisted) would need to attend a Partnership Day with CAP on Tuesday 7th October 2025 in Bradford. 

The role would require an enhanced DBS Disclosure
