Fit for the future: 10 Year Health Plan for England

After years of public concern that the NHS is failing, a 10-year plan has now been published. It includes an honest evaluation of the current state of the NHS, along with an ambitious plan for how a reform will be implemented.

It is glaringly obvious that all of us—the NHS, VCSEs, other statutory services, and most importantly, our residents and neighbours—will be affected by the outcomes of this plan. It is therefore imperative that we all play an active role in the reform through discussion, co-production, and leadership, as much as we can.

Salford has already been working towards many of the ambitions outlined in this reform. We have been collaborating in partnership to address health inequalities, ensure accessible support within communities and neighbourhoods, and provide VCSE services to help relieve pressure on the NHS. Through innovation and commitment, we will continue striving to ensure that this plan is fully realised for Salford.
