Complex Domestic Abuse Practitioner

Stockport Without Abuse (SWA) is a grassroots charity committed to supporting our vision of everyone having a right to live in safety, and to have a future without fear of domestic abuse. We work directly with women, men and children who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse.

The Complex Domestic Abuse Practitioner works alongside our high-risk IDVA service to provide an intensive programme of support to those victims who are identified as having multiple or complex needs, repeat victimisation and – where engagement attempts have proven unsuccessful – in improving outcomes. They will maintain a unique working partnership between Stockport Without Abuse (SWA) and statutory safeguarding partners and will help to enable victims to develop and maintain relationships that promote their wellbeing, keep them safe and prevent, reduce or delay their need to access statutory services.

Working holistically with individuals who have been repeatedly victimised, the Complex Practitioner will make interventions to help build upon existing personal strengths and support networks to enhance resilience, develop self-esteem, and minimise the threat of harm to themselves or others.
