Our Information and Advice team requires a motivated individual with previous experience of advising on welfare benefits and excellent communication skills.

The role of Advice Worker involves providing information and advice on a range of social welfare issues to older people, their carers and other professionals working with older people by telephone, email and face to face. Understanding the needs of and issues affecting older people and their carers is essential.
The role will be based at our City Centre offices. Some work is also carried out at our community hubs, so regular travel throughout the city will be required. The service also provides home visits for clients who are unable to visit us
Travel expenses will be covered.
The successful applicants must have previous experience of advising on welfare benefits, including the following matters:
- Checking benefit entitlement
- Helping with benefit claims
- Challenging adverse benefit decisions
- Accessing social care services
- Identifying housing options
- Dealing with debt or utility bills
Due to the nature of our work an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate is required. The cost of the certificate will be refunded to you after satisfactorily completing three months employment.
