Children and Young People’s (CYP) Lead Accommodation Worker

  • Full-time position of 37 hours per week
  • Fixed term contract to 31st March 2027, with the possibility of extension subject to funding
  • Annual salary of £29,143.68

Main purpose of the post:
As the Lead Children and Young People’s (CYP) Accommodation Worker, you will deliver one-to-one support sessions including work/play activities to children and young people residing in the refuge aged 0-16, who have been affected by domestic abuse, and small group sessions to these children and young people to support socialisation skills and integration into a new living environment. You will develop and deliver programmes of age-appropriate flexible support to children and young people, which support their needs and enhance their experiences through play and meaningful engagement.

You will also support families to transition to a new living environment and promote effective parenting skills and promote and build working links and relationships with other children and family focused agencies in the locality and wider community, particularly health visitors, maternity team and safeguarding services.

Alongside frontline casework, the postholder will hold defined leadership responsibility for SWA’s Children and Young People (CYP) provision both within the refuge and Prevention work delivered in the community. The role will ensure that children’s support is safe, structured, outcome-focused and compliant with safeguarding standards.
