Foundation 92 is proud to announce that from Friday 10th July, the charity will officially become Salford City FC Foundation, marking an exciting new chapter in its journey supporting communities across Salford and beyond.
Founded by The Class of ’92, Foundation 92 has spent recent years delivering impactful programmes that empower, educate and improve lives through sport, wellbeing and education. The transition to Salford City FC Foundation reflects a strengthened alignment with Salford City Football Club and a shared ambition to create even greater impact across the local community.
As the official charity of Salford City FC, the new identity will better represent the close relationship between club and community, while building on the strong foundations and legacy already created.
The charity’s new vision is:
'To be a leading force in transforming lives across Salford and beyond, engaging more of our community in sport, wellbeing and education programmes.'
Its mission remains firmly rooted in supporting local people:
'We empower, educate and improve lives, by reducing inequalities and creating opportunities for the people of Salford.'
Salford City FC Foundation will continue to deliver programmes across three key areas:
- Education & Employability
- Health & Wellbeing
- Community Engagement
Alongside the rebrand, Salford City FC Foundation will also launch its new long-term strategy, focused on increasing participation opportunities, promoting inclusivity, strengthening partnerships and delivering sustainable programmes that create lasting social value.
Martin Ingham-Griffith, CEO of Salford City FC Foundation said:
"Football clubs have a unique ability to bring people together and create a sense of pride and belonging within their communities, regardless of what happens on the pitch on a Saturday afternoon. The role of a football club charity is to ensure that connection goes far beyond the game itself, creating opportunities, supporting wellbeing and helping people feel part of something positive and meaningful. The Class of ’92 will always be an incredibly important part of our story and the legacy they have helped create through Foundation 92 is something we are hugely proud of. Their vision and commitment have helped build strong foundations that have made a real difference to communities across Salford and beyond.
As we transition to Salford City FC Foundation, there is also a real sense of excitement about the future. This new identity reflects the deep connection between the football club and the community we serve and gives us an opportunity to continue growing our impact, reaching more people and ensuring the club remains a source of pride both on and off the field.”
Gavin Fleig, CEO of Salford City FC said:
“This summer is a landmark moment for Salford City Football Club as we transition into our new identity, and it has provided a natural opportunity for us to re-align with the Foundation. After a period of change and growth across both organisations, this alignment brings us back together and under a distinctive new identity we hope to create a symbol that represents opportunity and achievement to the people of Salford for the future. As a Club with community at its heart this alignment is fundamental in helping us to achieve our objectives, and we are excited to see the impact that we can deliver in Salford through outreach and engagement opportunities.”
