Aims: Objectives of Fund
Forever Manchester helps fund and support a huge range of activities organised by community and grassroots groups in Greater Manchester. Examples of projects that can apply for funding include:
- Working with older residents.
- Working with children and young people.
- Improving health and wellbeing of the local community.
- Encouraging volunteering.
- Starting new community groups.
Who can apply: Local voluntary and community groups, including grassroots organisations, are eligible to apply. Only one application per organisation will be accepted.
Grant amount: Discretionary

Manchester Guardian Society Charitable Trust
Aims/priorities: The funding is intended for a wide range of charities and other community organisations that provide charitable benefits for communities within Greater Manchester.

The Charity Service – Greater Manchester Grants
Aims/priorities: Funding is for projects and activities that will deliver one or more of the following priorities:
• Preventing homelessness
• Reducing social isolation.
• Support for vulnerable families and children.
Funding will assist the provision of services, support, equipment, activities or amenities which will improve people’s well-being.
Grants are available to support activity and project costs, capital costs, and/or organisational core costs.
Who can apply? Registered charities, community interest companies, community groups and voluntary organisations can apply.
Grant amount: Multi-year grants of up to £9,000 for up to three years (£3,000 per year) are available.

Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund
Aims/priorities: The Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund offers grants to charitable organisations that are active in Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Lancashire for projects that benefit local communities and residents. The Trustees are particularly interested in the following:
• Causes with which the Duchy has historical association such as church livings and estates within the boundaries of the three Counties and purposes which will benefit the community.
• Trusts, Associations and Institutions that maintain and preserve monuments, Estates and possessions of the Duchy which prove to be of benefit to the public and local community.
• Organisations which provide care and support for people who are older, infirm or disadvantaged members of society.
• Community Associations that benefit local people.
• Organisations for young people such as Scouts, Guides, Cadets, Youth Organisations etc.
• Support for educational initiatives that will have beneficial results for the local community.

D'Oyly Carte Charitable Trust
Aims/priorities: The funding is to be used for core costs and projects. The Trustees favour small-scale, locally based initiatives.
Projects that fall within the following fields of interest are eligible for support:
The Arts
• Access and participation in the arts for those who have least access to them with emphasis on choirs and singing to build community and bring people together.
• Performance development opportunities in the performing arts for those in the early stages of their careers.

Scops Art Trust
Aims/priorities: The goal of Scops Arts Trust is to help people to understand, participate in and enjoy the arts, particularly the performing arts. We are keen to find projects which widen access and have a lasting cultural impact on the community.
Priorities change regularly
Who can apply? The types of organisation we support are generally registered charities, but we will consider applications from social enterprises, community groups, etc, if they are formally constituted and have clear charitable purposes. Whilst we do not exclude large charities, applications from small to medium sized organisations will be looked on more favourably.

Theatres Trust Small Grants Scheme
Aims/priorities: The scheme aims to fund small capital improvements to theatres run by charities and not-for-profit groups that will make a big impact to a theatre's resilience, sustainability or accessibility, or to improving the diversity of audiences. Eligible projects include small capital works, the installation of key plant and machinery and works which make theatre buildings digital-ready. This scheme will prioritise improvements to buildings that protect theatre use and remove barriers to participation and attendance.
Who can apply? To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Own or manage theatres with titles or signed leases of more than five years on buildings in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland
• Demonstrate that they run a regular theatre programme of professional, community and/or amateur work presenting no less than 30 performances a year
• Have a bona fide UK charitable or not-for-profit legal structure and be able to provide certified or audited accounts for at least two years. This can include local authorities or Town and Borough Councils that own and/or operate a venue.
Grant amount: Grants of up to £7,500 are available

Arts Council England National Lottery Projects Grants
Aims/priorities: This grants programme is intended to help the Arts Council deliver its 2020-2030 strategy, 'Let's Create' which is about making a difference to the creative and cultural lives of people and communities in England. It also provides a means to support a broad range of not-for-profit projects that create and sustain quality work and help people across England to engage with arts and culture. The programme supports development by allowing artists, cultural practitioners and organisations to work in new ways and to get their work out to new audiences.
Priority is currently being given to the following types of time-limited priorities:
• Supporting Grassroots Music – specifically supports rehearsal and recording studios, promoters, festivals, and venues for live and electronic music performance
• Museums Unlocking Collections – aimed at enabling museums to develop their collections-based work and increase public engagement with, and use of, their collections
• Universal Library Offers – aimed at enabling public libraries with their delivery of the four Universal Library Offers: Reading, Health and Wellbeing, Digital and Information, and Culture and Creativity
Who can apply? Grants are available for individual artists, community and cultural organisations to support arts, museums and libraries projects that engage people in England with arts and culture.
Grant amount: Three levels of grants are available:
• Grants of up to and including £30,000
• Grants of between £30,001 and £100,000

Paul Hamlyn Foundation – Arts-based Learning Fund
Aims/priorities: Grants are available for arts and cultural organisations working in partnership with formal education settings to create a more equitable school system where high-quality arts-based learning is a core part of all children’s education. This fund achieves this by:
• Supporting arts organisations to work in partnership with formal education settings leading to a mutual exchange and enrichment of expertise
• Focusing on pupils who experience systemic inequity and enabling them to make progress and overcome barriers to learning
• Exploring the role of arts-based learning in addressing issues of inclusion, especially racism, in education
• Creating more opportunities for high quality arts-based teaching and learning in education settings, especially in those which have not had this work in the past
• Enabling arts-based learning to be embedded in curricula and practice for the long-term
• Building a body of evidence and practice, and understanding how the work improves equity for pupils
Who can apply? Applications will be accepted from:
• Arts and cultural organisations working in partnership with formal education settings (including state-funded primary and secondary schools, SEND specialist schools, Further Education colleges, alternative provision settings such as Pupil Referral Units, and some types of state-funded Early Years settings)
• Organisations that are developing established programmes of work and/or testing new approaches
Grant amount: Grants range from £30,000 to £300,000, up to £100,000 per year.
Pre-application Access Support and a bursary of up to £750 is available for organisations who are unable to access the application portal due to disability.

Aims/priorities: Grants are available for registered charities undertaking projects to support disadvantaged and disabled children who are under 13 years of age within the UK and abroad. Funding is available to help disadvantaged children aged below 13 years and their families to:

Ironmongers' Company
Aims/priorities: The Company offers support to registered charities in the UK providing opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people under the age of 25 to fulfil their potential. Henry Smith Foundation - Holiday Grants for Children
Aims/priorities: The funding helps to provide opportunities for children aged 13 years or younger who face financial hardship, systemic inequity or disability to go on a short recreational holiday or outing they would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience.
Who can apply? Schools, youth groups, not-for-profit organisations and charities in the UK are eligible to apply.
Grant amount: Up to £2,800

BlueSpark Foundation
Aims/priorities: BlueSpark provides funding for projects which aim to improve the education and development of children and young people by means of educational, cultural, sporting or other activities. The Foundation aims to help children and young people reach their full potential by supporting projects that have the following objectives:

• Developing self-confidence.

The Access Foundation- Digital Divide
Aims/priorities: The Access Foundation, a registered charity, was set up in 2021 following the success and growth enjoyed by The Access Group over the previous decade. While affiliated with the company in terms of its identity, The Access Foundation is a separate organisation, governed by an independent board of trustees and with its own objectives and goals.
The Foundation is focused on making a real difference to people’s lives by awarding grants to charities that make a valuable and measurable positive impact. The Foundation offers grants to charities in the countries where the charity operates: England and Wales, Scotland, Australia, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand and Romania. The funding is intended for charities and other not-for-project organisations that are working with disadvantaged and vulnerable people in England, Scotland and Wales. Clarion Futures Digital Grants
Aims/priorities: The funding is for organisations seeking to deliver innovative, well-designed projects that support Clarion residents and the wider community to address digital exclusion.
The funding is for projects and activities that focus on:
• Supporting Clarion residents to discover the full scope of how the internet can assist them in their everyday lives, and provide them with the skills and confidence to do so

ChurchesCare - Various Grants Programs
Aims/priorities: ChurchCare is the Church of England's Cathedral and Church Buildings Division. It works in partnership with various grant-giving bodies to provide funding for the conservation of historic church interiors and churchyard structures.
The grants are offered in partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Pilgrim Trust, the Radcliffe Trust, the Oswald Allen Bequest, the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, the Gunnis Fund, and the Anglican Parish Churches Fund.

Westhill Endowment Trust
Aims/priorities: Grants and other resources are available to support formal and informal religious education projects and faith-motivated activities that enable people to transform their lives and the life of their communities in the UK.
Who can apply? Not-for-profit organisations, churches and cathedrals, hospitals and hospices, and higher and further education institutions both in the UK and overseas are eligible to apply.
Grant amount: Grants are usually made between the values of £500 and £20,000. Larger grants may be considered for projects running over two years.

Wingate Foundation
Aims/priorities: Jewish/Interfaith
Applications are especially welcome from organisations with a demonstrable track record in effective interfaith and intercultural engagement, in the promotion of mutual understanding and reconciliation between Jews in Israel and their Arab neighbours, and the encouragement of liberal values in both communities. Protective Security for Mosques Funding Scheme
Aims/priorities: The scheme is part of the Government's Hate Crime Action Plan. The scheme is intended to reduce the risk and impact of hate crime at places of worship and associated faith community centres. Funding is available for protective security measures to places of worship that have been subject to or are vulnerable to a hate crime attack. From 28th October 2024, protective security measures are also available to Muslim faith schools.
Who can apply? Mosques and associated faith community centres from across the UK can apply.
To be eligible, applicants must be registered charities, charities or places of worship exempt from registration, or eligible Community Interest Companies (CICs).

Screwfix Foundation
Aims/priorities: The funding is intended for both national and local charities across the UK so that they can fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and community facilities specifically for those in need (by reason of financial hardship, sickness, disability or other disadvantage or distress) in the UK.

The Fore
Aims/priorities: The Fore provides unrestricted grants to small charities and social enterprises based in the UK.

Clothworkers’ Foundation
Aims/priorities: The Clothworkers’ Foundation improves the lives of people and communities – particularly those facing disadvantage and marginalisation – through grant-making.
The Foundation awards grants in the following areas:
• Substance misuse and addiction
• Disabilities (inc. mental health and visual impairment)
• Communities experiencing racial inequalities
• Young people facing disadvantage

Funding is available for capital costs – meaning tangible items or work, which includes digital/audio visual equipment, software and websites.
Who can apply? UK-registered charities, community interest companies, and other registered UK not-for-profit organisations (including special schools) with an annual income under £10 million can apply.
Grant amount: Flexible. For smaller projects (less than £15,000), the foundation generally funds between 50% and 100% of the balance. Read the guidance for full details.

Heritage
Memorial Grant Scheme
Aims/priorities: The Memorial Grant Scheme is a VAT reclaim scheme which means the funding is intended to cover the costs of VAT already paid. The funding is intended for registered charities or faith groups excepted from registering as a charity to help with the cost of works like repairing and cleaning public memorials or installing a new memorial. The memorial can commemorate a person/people, an animal/s or event/s. The funding can only be provided for works that have already taken place. It cannot be used for future works. Part-funding is available for ongoing work for parts of the work which have been completed.

Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) – Various Grants Programs
Aims/priorities: The wider Heritage Revival Fund is focused on regenerating historic buildings in town centres. Funding may be available for a small number of exceptional projects outside of these areas. These are likely to involve rescuing and re-using buildings of high heritage significance with clear potential to deliver strong social, economic and heritage regeneration benefits.
Project Development grants are intended to help not-for-profit organisations with development work on historic building projects. Grants can contribute towards the costs of developing and coordinating projects and taking them towards the start of work on site. To qualify, an organisation must have established that the end use of the project is likely to be viable and have decided to take the project forward.
Priority will be given to historic buildings in towns across England.

National Lottery Heritage Grants
Aims/priorities: Heritage can be anything from the past that you value and want to pass on to future generations. We fund projects that connect people and communities to the national, regional and local heritage of the UK. As examples, this could include nature and habitats, historic buildings and environments, or cultures, traditions and people’s memories.

Landfill Grants
Biffa Trust
Aims/priorities: Biffa Award's Main Grants Scheme, have four main areas
• the Cultural Facilities theme aims to improve recreation, interest and education. The project could be based within a theatre, gallery, museum, concert hall, arts or heritage centre and must be open to the general public for at least 104 days each year, attracting tourists or day visitors.
• Community Buildings theme aims to improve buildings at the heart of their communities, such as village halls, community centres and church halls
• Recreation theme provides grants to support projects that will benefit people within their free time
• The Nature Recovery theme provides grants covering a variety of living things and includes all species of plants and animals, along with the habitats and natural processes that support them. It is important that species and habitats are protected and restored, that there are functioning natural processes, and that the environment can adapt to threats such as climate change.
The funding is for projects located within five miles of a significant Biffa Operation or within 10 miles of an active Biffa Landfill site in England or Northern Ireland.

Aims/priorities: Grants are available for community projects delivering capital improvements to public amenities. Charles Hayward Foundation
Aims/priorities: Small grants will be made to Older People’s projects that are preventative and early intervention programmes delivered locally that allow older people to stay in their own homes and remain independent.

Home Instead Charities
Aims/priorities: The aim of the grants scheme is to support small local community groups that are addressing social isolation and loneliness in the over 55s. Funding can be used for:
• Regular weekly or monthly events and activities such as weekly cinema club, weekly knit and natter or Thursday lunch club
• One off activities such as a day trip or a Christmas lunch
• Activities such as yoga or a guest speaker for your group such as a local historian
Who can apply? Applications are accepted from small community groups and charities in the UK
Grant amount: Small grassroots organisations can apply for up to £500. Small local registered charities can apply for up to £1,500. Larger grants can be considered for exceptional projects. The charity will only fully fund a grant request where the organisation holds no more than three months operating costs in reserve. For organisations that have more than this, up to 50% of the project costs will be funded.

Masonic Charitable Foundation – Later Life Inclusion Grants Programme
Aims/priorities: The Reducing Isolation in Later Life Grants programme offers both small and large grants to registered charities that support disadvantaged and vulnerable older people over 50 years of age in England and Wales. Over the next five years, the MCF will be supporting charities that help people to overcome barriers to actively participate in society in their later years. The funding will help people who face social isolation or loneliness due to reasons such as financial hardship, care responsibilities, a decline in physical or mental health, or life transitions including retirement or bereavement. The support will help to provide a range of services to support the physical and emotional needs of people as they age, including community-based programmes and access to healthcare, transport and technology.
Who can apply? Charities registered with the Charity Commission or relevant Central registry of the respective Guernsey, Jersey or Isle of Man’s government can apply as long as their beneficiaries are in England and Wales.
Grant amount: Large grants starting from £10,000 are available to charities with an annual income exceeding £500,000. The average large grant will range from £20,000 to £60,000.
Small grants of between £1,000 and £15,000 are available to charities with an income of under £500,000.

Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund
Aims/priorities: The Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund was formerly known as the Playing Fields Legacy Fund, which was established in 2012 by the late Angus Irvine as a response to what he felt was a failure of the 2012 London Olympics to provide its promised legacy for grass-roots sport. In 2018 the charity's trustees decided to join forces with Access Sport and form the new Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund (AIPFF), through which Access Sport will act as custodian of Angus's legacy.
Access Sport is a UK charity that aims to meet the urgent need to improve children and young people’s health and wellbeing, working solely with young people in deprived communities and with a strong emphasis on young disabled people.
The funding is intended to improve the lives of children and young people (up to the age of 25 years), enabling them to access the transformative benefits of inclusive community sport.

Sport England – The Movement Fund
Aims/priorities: The Movement Fund provides crowdfunding pledges, grants and support to help projects that get more people active. The Movement Fund supports projects that promote physical activity, including active travel, walking, cycling, dance, fitness, and sporting activities. Aims/priorities: Grants are available for sports clubs and organisations in England to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation for the benefit of disadvantaged children who are under the age of 21 years.
