Volunteer Opportunities
At Liberty House we work with homeless young people aged between 16 and 25 years old. The young people live at Liberty House short term (up to 12 weeks) and are supported to find more long term accommodation as well as deal with issues around finding employment or education, some may need help with drug or alcohol use, mental health or offending behaviour but all are risk assessed and there is an experienced staff team on board 24 hours a day. As a volunteer you would support our young people with life/social skills such as cooking, looking for employment opportunities, computer skills, watching films/documentries and chatting about them, art or music projects, reading/writing skills, playing games, other learning projects and you can also bring your own ideas or consult our young people about what they want to do.
This grid shows when you can volunteer for this opportunity.

We don't ask for specific skills or qualifications but a positive attitude and 'can do' approach. Some experience of working with young people may help but is not essential. Basic computer skills and the ability to use the internet would assist your ability to support and if you have any skills such as cooking, playing an instrument, basic teaching or artistic talents they could definitely be useful.
