Volunteer Opportunities

Be the Difference! Become a Volunteer Mentor.
We’re looking for compassionate, steady, everyday people to do something truly extraordinary—be a consistent, trusted adult in a young person’s life.
Our key role is a longer-term, 1:1 befriending-type opportunity for young people leaving foster care or children’s home, who need a meaningful connection with someone who genuinely cares enough to stick around.
Our wonderful mentors offer just 2–3 hours a week, providing emotional and practical support, celebrating wins, tackling life’s challenges together, and—most importantly—being a calm, consistent presence in a world that’s often felt unstable.
Mentoring is about showing up—not just once, but over time. It’s about building trust, growing a relationship, and being that reliable person a young care leaver can count on. The impact of that kind of support doesn’t happen overnight—but it lasts a lifetime.
We provide full training, ongoing support, and a community that’s here to back you every step of the way.
If you have the time, we’d love to hear from you.
Why Volunteer for us?
Mentoring changes lives—and not just for the young person. Here’s what you might get out of it too:
• That feel-good feeling – Knowing you’re making a real difference each week is really rewarding.
• Personal growth – You’ll learn more about yourself, others, and how to really listen.
• Your life experience matters – The ups and downs you’ve had can help someone find their way.
• You're not alone – We’ve got your back with full training and ongoing support.
• It’s good for you too – Giving your time and care is great for your own wellbeing.
• Volunteer expenses – you receive travel expenses, so you are not out of pocket.

You don’t need special qualifications—just time, empathy, and a willingness to walk alongside a young person on their journey. Our Volunteer Mentors are everyday people with a bit of life experience, a steady presence, and a calm, caring nature. They’re the kind of people who are good at building trust over time, offering encouragement, and setting healthy boundaries in a supportive way.
Because of the nature of the role and the need for mentors to draw on some life experience, we encourage volunteers to be 25 or over. It’s less about age and more about having lived a little—enough to offer stability, perspective, and care that a young person can really rely on.
If you are kind, caring, non judgemental and drive a car, please do reach out to us for a chat.
