Opportunity hosted by: TRC Sexual Abuse and Rape Support Greater Manchester
Description:

TRC Sexual Abuse and Rape Support Greater Manchester recruit for Helpline, Live Chat and Email Volunteers. Volunteering on TRC’s helpline, providing emotional support and independent information to women who have experienced any form of rape and sexual abuse, at any time in their lives. We have a range of calls to this service, where the main priority is listening, believing and supporting each caller by letting them take the lead in the call. Sometimes we offer callers practical support and information and at other times, we are a listening ear. You will be expected to fulfil a helpline shift (3 hours), once every 2 weeks. Volunteering on TRC’s Live Chat service, much like the helpline, involves providing emotional support and independent information to women who have experienced any form of rape and sexual abuse, at any time in their lives. However, we do this through online web chat. As part of this role, live chat volunteers are also expected to help with responding to emails on our email support service, where women can access emotional support and information.

We are also recruiting Art Group volunteers to help create a welcoming and supportive environment at our weekly Art Group for service users. This role involves chatting with participants, making teas and coffees, tidying up paints and materials, and offering a friendly presence. Volunteers don't need to be an artist, the group is run by an art facilitator. We just need volunteers open to getting involved, being creative, and helping to make the space feel warm and safe for the women who attend.

All roles are undertaken in person, in Sale, Trafford. We do not offer any remote volunteering opportunities,
