Volunteer Opportunities
Langworthy Cornerstone is a healthy living centre, and promoting wellbeing through cheap, healthy, and affordable food is central to our mission.
As a Food Club Recipe Volunteer, you will support our Food Club by designing creative, healthy, and affordable recipes for local community members to use at home. Recipes will vary each week based on the ingredients delivered in the Food Club packages, so we need someone imaginative and adaptable.
This role is ideal for a local cook, aspiring chef, or food technology student who wants to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of people in their community who need it the most. The focus is entirely on recipe design and written content, not cooking, testing, or delivering food.
What’s involved?
• Attending Langworthy Cornerstone on Tuesday afternoons to design recipes ahead of Food Club distribution in the evening
• Designing healthy, affordable, and accessible recipes independently, promoting nutrition and wellbeing
• Coordinating with other Food Club volunteers to understand available ingredients or using common seasonal ingredients
• Creating clear, easy-to-follow written instructions for each recipe
• Considering dietary needs, allergens, and cultural inclusivity where possible
• Preparing recipe content for printing or inclusion in Food Club packages
• Following Langworthy Cornerstone policies and procedures
Time commitment
• Weekly commitment on Tuesday afternoons
• Typically, around 2–3 hours
• Regular attendance helps ensure consistency and quality for Food Club recipes
