Description:
The dementia cafe is a social group for people living with dementia and their carers and it meets Tuesday afternoons (1pm -3pm) every fortnight. Volunteers help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere by greeting attendees, serving tea and coffee, encouraging conversation, and supporting people to take part in activities throughout the session.

No skills or qualifications required, however the confidence to strike up conversation with people would be beneficial.
This role helps volunteers develop communication and interpersonal skills, confidence working with older people, teamwork, empathy, active listening, and an understanding of dementia and person-centred support.
