What do we do?

A core part of our work is providing specialist and bespoke information, advice and guidance to organisations using fresh, flexible and bespoke tools and packages. In the VCSE landscape there are a diverse range of organisations doing fantastic work with communities and people all making a difference. We are here to help and support this by listening to the needs and priorities of our members and identify creative and practical solutions to collectively make a difference to people and communities in Salford.

We work with principles and best practice approaches using frameworks from the Charity Commission, Code of good governance and fundraising. Our development support charter outlines our values and commitments to providing high quality development support to organisations. The information below lists a selection of the areas we provide advice and guidance in.

Support for new groups and not for profit start up enterprises includes:

  • Prioritising plans and actions
  • Working with others and identifying ways to collaborate
  • Roles and responsibilities of trustees
  • Understanding legal structures and governance
  • Help with constitutions, charity and company registration

Our Funding and income support includes:

  • Proof reading grant applications
  • Tailored one to one funding searches using our online funding
  • Assisting in project planning and development
  • Ideas to diversify your income for different sources
  • How to prepare budgets
  • Providing latest funding opportunities in monthly
  • Hosting meet the funders events

We provide a diverse range of expert Information, advice, and guidance including:

  • Creating and reviewing good practice approaches in policies, governance & planning
  • Understanding and accessing commissioning, procurement and tendering opportunities
  • Embedding good practice advice and all aspects of involving volunteers in your organisation
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing your business plan and strategic direction
  • Creating outcomes frameworks, embedding Social Value and helpful tools to measure, evaluate and evidence your work
  • Developing and implementing Safeguarding practices for adults and & children and young people
  • Quality Assurance Systems including specialist licensed PQASSO mentor services*
  • Connecting with private, statutory and other VCSE opportunities

In addition, we have a number of administrative and backroom office functions that your organisation can benefit from upon request. If there is something that you need that is not listed, please talk to us we will always endeavour to help or signpost you in the right direction.

How and when to access our services

Our skilled team offer advice and support throughout any stage of your organisations development you can access this in a number of ways: phone, email or tweet us with your enquiry and we will arrange a follow up conversation.

Our offices are open 9am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday** and Thursday late night until 7pm. Contact us.

**Please note – conversations and meetings can be arranged outside of normal office hours (early morning, evening, and weekend) upon discretion and notice.
