About Volunteer Centre Salford
Volunteer Centre Salford is one of the services offered by Salford CVS. It works to promote positive volunteering in Salford. It provides a range of services to both potential volunteers and we work with voluntary, community, social enterprise, public and private organisations.
The five main areas of our work meet the Volunteer Centre Quality Award (VCQA) core functions of a Volunteer Centre:
1. Strategic development of volunteering
Through the activity of the Volunteer Centre or partnership and its engagement with local networks and decision makers there is a positive environment in which volunteering is flourishing.
2. Good practice development
Through the activity of the Volunteer Centre or partnership, organisations from all sectors (involving or providing volunteers) should improve or attain positive consistency in their volunteering programmes.
3. Developing volunteering opportunities
The activity of the centre or partnership must increase and improve the quantity, quality, and diversity of volunteering locally.
4. Voice of volunteering
Through the Volunteer Centre’s or partnership's activities there is an increased awareness of the issues impacting on volunteering.
5. Brokerage
Through the Volunteer Centre’s or partnership’s activities the general public and all sectors are better informed about and have access to an effective and efficient brokerage service.
We have been awarded Volunteer England Quality Accreditation and have received national recognition for our Volunteering and Diversity program - Towards Excellence.
The Centre currently has approximately 400 organisations on its books and is always keen to hear from any new projects in and around Salford that are looking to involve volunteers in their work.
