What is Pride in Place?
Forty million pounds of government-secured funding is coming to Salford over the next ten years through Pride in Place. Pendleton and Brookhouse and Peel Green will each receive up to £20 million – and local people will decide how the money’s spent.

Pride in Place Community Researcher

Grade: £13.45 per hour, plus travel expenses and a contribution towards phone / internet costs
Hours: 8 guaranteed hours per week, part-time (excluding breaks), worked to a pattern agreed in advance with the Programme Manager (Place)
Contract: 8-week fixed term, from Monday 5th October to Monday 30th November 2026, and attend the online induction session on Monday 5th October 2026.
Responsible to: Programme Manager (Place)
Place of work: Community-based in Brookhouse and Peel Green or Pendleton
Main purposes of the post
To conduct community-based research in Brookhouse and Peel Green or Pendleton as part of the Pride in Place engagement plan.
Specific duties:
- Support community members to complete surveys about Pride in Place
- Carry out community research and outreach in local venues and neighbourhoods
- Speak with residents and community members, including through door knocking, events and public consultations
- Gather feedback from households and local groups in Brookhouse and Peel Green or Pendleton
- Record and report findings to the Programme Manager (Place)

Salford CVS’s role
Salford CVS is providing independent support to help set up the Neighbourhood Boards in both Pendleton and Brookhouse and Peel Green. We are working alongside Salford City Council to:
- Support the Boards
- Make sure local residents, community groups and people who work in the area are included and represented
Help create an open, fair and welcoming process so everyone has the chance to get involved
