A Summit of the Salford and Manchester Voluntary Organisations [1] with guest speaker, Tony Lloyd, the GM Police and Crime Commissioner and interim GM Mayor

Salford CVS and MACC are hosting the Making Safer Communities Summit for voluntary sector groups and will be joined by Tony Lloyd, the GM Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and interim GM Mayor. Deputy GM Police and Crime Commissioner, Jim Battle will attend to take part in a panel discussion and throughout we will be joined by Claire Millett, PCC Engagement Strategy Officer.
Making Safer Communities will showcase a broad range of voluntary sector good practice case studies and approaches from Salford and Manchester which address crime and community safety priorities – specifically:
- Hate crime
- Sexual exploitation of children or vulnerable adults
- Domestic abuse and violence
The aim of the Summit is to:
- Showcase the breadth and depth of voluntary sector work tackling these crime and community safety priorities
- Strengthen connections between VCSE groups and between the sector and the PCC.
- Identify the key challenges and opportunities for collaboration about these issues.
- Examine how the PCC can support community approaches to improve community safety.
The event is for voluntary sector organisations from across Manchester and Salford.
