Salford CVS Events & Training

Our training is only available for voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations in Salford, or those with Salford beneficiaries. If you are unsure if you are eligible to attend one of our training sessions please contact us

The course we deliver is a Basic Awareness Course and is in line with the competencies for Alerters/Level One as defined in the Salford All Agency Safeguarding Adults Competency Framework.

We have recently reviewed the course and it now includes an exercise on the combined Safeguarding Standards for the Community and Voluntary Sector.

In addition to Child Protection and Safeguarding the course will explore the links between Child Protection and Adult Safeguarding.

This course will help you to

  • Understand definitions of abuse and child protection, as well as signs and symptoms
  • Know how to make a child protection referral
  • Understand your responsibilities as a voluntary/community group
  • Understand the responsibilities of other agencies in Salford
  • Look at the Salford Safeguarding Standards and relate them to the activities of your voluntary/ community group

This course will be looking at applying to trust and foundations, especially when they say just write a letter and there is no application form and often little in the way of guidance about what they are looking for.
