Vocal Environment Network
About the Network
Vocal Environmental Network was established in 2019. The Network provides a broad-ranging representation of the interests and views of Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations working in the environmental sector in Salford.
Research has evidenced the importance of Green Space, outdoor activities and the benefits they brings to promote good mental health and wellbeing. The Forum aims to develop a stronger VCSE environmental sector, which will have a pivotal role to play supporting activities such as volunteering and Social Prescribing.
Objectives
- To share knowledge of what is happening locally
- To develop a 'bigger picture' of other projects available to link with
- To create potential joint project working and collaboration around green spaces
- To have a collective voice for the environment sector
- To provide mutual support (e.g. peer support, joint funding opportunities, social media campaigns, sharing news)
- To promote equipment sharing (e.g. 'Friends of' groups can get together a share tools)
- To facilitate special interest environment groups
