Part- time Activities Co-ordinator

The role & what to expect
As a part-time Support Team Activities Coordinator, you will work over a three-day Rota. You will work alongside the Centre Manager fulfilling a range of duties while actively working creatively and appropriately within the charity’s policies, procedures, systems and adhere to its core values. You will have the opportunity to become involved in the local community yourself seeking out opportunities to extend our attendees’ interests in healthy living, exercise, and social activities.

 

About Head Forward Centre
Head Forward Centre is a specialist support charity which addresses the problem of social isolation after Acquired Brain Injury by offering activities which encourage social rehabilitation. Regaining patience and concentration after brain injury can be a slow process, but joining in group discussions, word games, quizzes, pool and craft projects and other social outings and activities in a stress free and friendly atmosphere, can help to strengthen these abilities.

Your role will be to support our attendees to participate and when ready to lead them yourself. The rewards make every single day meaningful, and you get to create some fantastic memories. We are looking for caring and patient people to join our small team and make a difference to the lives of people we support. Helping them towards happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.

Necessary Experience / Qualifications to work as an Activities Coordinator:

 

Essential

  • Someone who has a real passion for caring and helping people, friendly and empathetic who enjoys interacting with people, self-motivated, warm and inviting with a strong work ethic.
  • A keen interest in gaining knowledge about the causes of acquired brain injury and the issues that survivors face.
  • Ability to work flexibly as needed to provide staff cover, although with a basic shift pattern.
  • Have the right to the work in the UK.

 

Preferred but not Essential

  • Experience working with vulnerable people such as a Care Activities Coordinator or Support Worker/ Healthcare Assistant / Domiciliary Carer.

 

Job Type

  • Part-time, Temporary to September 2024 with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

 

Salary Range

  • Dependent on experience: £12.50-14.83 per hour

 

Expected Hours

  • 16.5 per week but additional may be required by arrangement depending on needs of the charity.

 

Schedule

      •   Encompassing shifts on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday between 10am - 3.30pm

 

Work authorisation

  • United Kingdom (required)
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required

 

 Work Location

  • In person, Withington, Manchester
