The Minor Ailment Scheme

The Minor Ailment Scheme has been introduced across pharmacies in Salford so that residents registered with a Salford GP can visit their community pharmacist instead of their GP for advice and if necessary a supply of medication to manage a number of self-treatable health conditions.

Community pharmacists are not only able to treat simple conditions but if you don’t currently pay for prescriptions they can issue  a supply of medicines that you would normally need to buy, such as head lice treatments. The service is available to all Salford residents who are registered with a GP who have a minor, self-treatable condition. Most community pharmacists in Salford have signed up to the scheme and a full list is available here. Some of which are open in the evenings and at weekends.

Donate food this Christmas to help local people in crisis. As Advent approaches, would you consider making a “reverse advent” calendar this year to support Salford Foodbank.  A reverse advent calendar is where you pick up one item a day to donate to the Foodbank and put it in a box.
