The Facilities Management Technicians will provide a varied, wide ranging and comprehensive service to help keep Factory International’s brand new building well maintained, safe, clean and accessible. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager and Deputy Facilities Manager, the Technicians will help all users of our fantastic building.

The key responsibilities for the Facilities Management Technician role include;

  • Helping to lead coordination of the department’s Computer Aided Facilities Management system (CAFM) with maintenance records, contractor details and other statutory documentation. Thorough training will be given, but excellent IT skills and ability to learn new software is essential for this role
  • Basic maintenance, including plumbing, joinery, furniture construction/repairs, basic electrical repairs (inc. changing lamps). Training will be provided where required
     
  • Assisting with the set-up and operation of all spaces as required. Will include adjusting building light & temperature levels for comfort (BMS), and dealing with issues that arise
     
  • Providing other business support to the Facilities manager, including assisting with invoicing, Access Control administration and contractor management. Training will be given
  • Monitoring of all spaces for cleanliness, safety and operation, resolving issues or escalating where necessary
     
  • Updating the department’s Computer Aided Facilities Management system (CAFM) with maintenance records, and communicating progress to relevant building users. Managing expectations in a friendly, accurate and conscientious manner is a critical part of this role
     
  • Assisting with the Health & Safety operation of the building, including reporting issues and reacting to them (where possible), legionella water temperature monitoring, and taking part in risk assessments
     
  • Providing resource (along with the rest of the Facilities Management team) to cover a wide ranging events schedule, possibly involving some evenings and weekend work

The person specification for the Facilities Management Technician role are;

ESSENTIAL

  • Good knowledge, experience or awareness of practical skills from some or all of: plumbing, joinery, decoration, furniture maintenance, heating & cooling systems, kitchen equipment
     
  • Excellent basic IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, and at least an awareness of other systems and software.
     
  • Ability to organize a varied and busy workload, prioritizing tasks and ensuring good progress
     
  • Positive, self-motivated and enthusiastic attitude with a flexible approach
  • Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Ability to work to a varied schedule across the full working week, including some evenings and weekends where required

DESIRABLE

  • Relevant experience with, or training on, access equipment such as ladders, working platforms and manual handling equipment
     
  • Experience in a relevant FM or Maintenance function
     
  • Experience using/awareness of a CAFM system, and excellent IT skills to help support the department’s administrative functions
     
  • Experience with/awareness of relevant Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent
