Join us at The Beacon Centre on Thursday 18th April 2024, 1-3pm for an afternoon of open conversations and practical solutions on how to have proactive and safe conversations with service users and communities to challenge discriminatory and intolerant views and practises.

With the right knowledge, you can be more confident in how you can support yourself, family, friends and your wider community before, during and after times of crisis.
Breakthrough UK have provided some information about their latest Employment services offering Diverse Works: Salford and Diverse Works: Pre-Employment.
Diverse Works: Salford
We support individuals who are residents of Salford, are over 18, consider yourself to be a disabled person and who would like to find employment.
What we will do:
We provide an individual specialised plan of support will be put together which will include actions such as:

Salford Community Leisure are hosting Free Workshops which will be delivered by Street Games. 'Mental Health Conversations' will explore the basics of what Mental Health is, what good Mental Health looks like and some of the resource tools the clubs/groups can use to support young people and adults with Mental Health issues. The candidates on the workshop will also be given information on where to refer people in Salford and what organisations are available to support them.
With an estimated 526,000 people in Greater Manchester living with disabilities, and research suggesting 45% face forms of digital exclusion, a new resource has been launched to help disabled people in Greater Manchester get online and access opportunities in the digital world.
Greater Manchester Equality Alliance (GM=EqAl) is a coalition of over 30 individuals drawn from a wide range of communities of experience and identity, and VCFSE organisations across Greater Manchester. The alliance serves to connect communities to policymakers, and vice versa, to assist with strategic equality and diversity work in Greater Manchester.
Cost of Living
- While the proportion of respondents reporting cost of living increases has fallen slightly since November, it remains well over half (59%) and higher than the proportion for Great Britain as a whole (46%)
- The proportion of respondents who have borrowed more money or used more credit compared to a year ago has also decreased since November.
